Recipe: Hummus Bi Tahini

Hummus!! omg hummus is so good and surprisingly cheap too.   A $1.19 bag of dried chickpeas  = 6 days worth of dip, spread, snack or whatever over rice.   I sucessfully made this hummus on the first try and like it so much i made some more as soon as I finished the first batch.

Blend everything with food processor until smooth.   Serves 3-5 and shelf life 3-4 days in fridge.

1 can organic chick peas (garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed
Juice of one lemon
1/4 cup tahini
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp cumin
1 clove of garlic
Salt to taste (I use about 1/2 tsp)

optional 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper, pinch of paprika, chicken broth powder flavor

SUBSTITUTES - Ideally you would have all the ingredients on hand but I usually do not as this isn't exactly a middle eastern neighborhood and I usually forget about tahini when I'm commuting to and from stuff.

chickpeas:  1 can 15 oz = 1/2 pack dried chickpeas
soak dried chickpeas until pinchable then cook for whatever package says like 30 mins i think

tahini sauce = sesame seed oil  OR peanut butter+ sesame seed oil

olive oil = skip or use vegetable/peanut oil (healthier version skip unless its olive oil)

salt to taste
Lemon = Lime  OR juice in concentrate bottle stuff
